Potentially toxic trace element pollution in long-term fertilized agricultural soils in China: A meta-analysis

چکیده
Fertilization results in potentially toxic trace element (PTTE) pollution agricultural soils. However, it is unclear which factors determine the effect sizes of fertilization on PTTEs at multiple spatial-temporal scale. This work synthesized 379 observations 78 field sites (3–35 years) across China's main grain producing areas, and showed that long-term organic significantly enhanced total Cu, Zn Cd by 25.7%, 18.9% 66.6%, soil available 60.5%, 155.3% 83.6%, respectively; whereas inorganic increased only an average 6.3%. Organic fertilizer (OF) type application rate dominated variation PTTE concentrations, where approximately one-half (42.6% 47% Cd) was observed. Furthermore, OFs containing less than 1 mg kg?1 were recommended to be safely applied Soil factor under determining variation, resulted higher risk some soils such as Alfisols Semi-hydromorphic soils, we suggested use lower amounts P fertilizers or ones having small PTTEs. In short, caused serious especially Chinese croplands, strategies with a focus towards reducing must developed, e.g., promoting straw return, forbidding addition feeds feed additives, improving carbon sequestration efficiency (CSE) thus matter (SOM).

Long -Term Outcome Therapy of Toxic Diffuse Goiter in Tehran
SUMMARY In order to evaluate the long-ter m effects of antithyroids and ahlative therapy on patients with toxic diffuse goiter (TDG) in an iodine deficient region, 206 patients were studied in Tehran. Hyperthyroidism recurred in 50%, of 80 patients treated with Methimazole (MMI), from one week to 48 months after cessation of therapy. Another 40 patients remained in remission. Of 102 patients t...
متن کاملLong-term fate of nitrate fertilizer in agricultural soils.
Increasing diffuse nitrate loading of surface waters and groundwater has emerged as a major problem in many agricultural areas of the world, resulting in contamination of drinking water resources in aquifers as well as eutrophication of freshwaters and coastal marine ecosystems. Although empirical correlations between application rates of N fertilizers to agricultural soils and nitrate contamin...
متن کاملEvaluation of Potentially Toxic Elements Pollution Indices in Rangeland Northwest of Chadegan city (Isfahan Province)
Abstract Today, the pollution of Rangeland soils by various destructive pollutants has become one of the human-environmental problems. Lacking proper management of organic matter discharge can also increase the concentration of salts, heavy metals, and pathogenic microorganisms. In this study, to investigate and measure the concentration of toxic elements, 128 soil samples of Chadegan region w...
متن کاملTrace Elements in Soils and Selected Agricultural Plants in the Tongling Mining Area of China
The quality and safety of agricultural products from metal mining areas are of wide concern. In order to investigate the contents and health risks of trace elements in fruit vegetables planted in metal mining areas, 440 samples of fruit vegetables from 117 vegetable plots were collected from Tongling mining area. Trace element contents in fruit vegetables and soil were measured. The results ind...
متن کاملLong-term fate of nitrate fertilizer in agricultural soils is not necessarily related to nitrate leaching from agricultural soils.
Accounting for the fate of inorganic N fertilizer in agricultural systems is critical to sustainable production. Sebilo et al. (1) provide a unique long-term record of NO3 fertilizer fate that demonstrates N molecules from a discrete fertilizer application are transferred to soil organic matter (SOM) and subsequently mineralized over the course of approximately 100 y, during which they contribu...
